On of the first things that must be decided when starting up a new website is choosing the domain. Some say that the smaller the word, the better.....and don't use hyphens. Some disagree with such advice. What are some of 'your' tips for choosing a new name?

I have to agree with the no hyphens suggestion. I own www.buck-fever.com which is a "get paid to" site and there is often a lot of confusion with the domain. I get a ton of buckfever.com traffic and they get the vise versa as well. As to being short, I don't think that applies. Something that is CATCHY or MEMORABLE is always better than something short and forgetful....
