For those of you who have been through a few hosts already, what are some of your horror stories? Bad customer service? Lots of down time?

Well this isn't actually MY story per say but it did make an impression on me since I was involved with the companies that were hosting with this company. It is a fairly small WAHM hosting company. The owner had not backed up any of the sites for some time, (some had never been backed up) and I don't recall what they called it but some server or database etc "blew" and the company lost EVERYTHING... Everyone's sites were just gone like that! Some were down up to 3 weeks and still have not fully recovered due to the facts of rebuilding their sites from scratch. What did I learn? ALWAYS BACKUP YOUR SITE!

Oh no! That's just awful! And yeah, people should backup their own sites, but still, for it to just lose all of the info like that is so sad.
