Step 1 Start out with a 300x200 white background canvas. Create a new layer set and name it Recycle bin. We will start with the body of the bin, using the Ellipse tool, create an oblong shape and fill path #B7B7B7. For the metallic look, add a gradient overlay layer style.

Gradient Overlay:
- Blend Mode: Normal
- Opacity: 100
- Gradient: Default
+ Reverse: Check
- Style: Reflected
+ Align with Layer: Check
- Angle: 0
- Scale: 150

Step 2 To make the lid, create a wider #EBECEB circle that connects with the top edges of the oblong in a new layer, see picture below for visual. Apply an Outer Glow and Gradient Overlay layer styles then erase the top piece from the oblong layer.

Gradient Overlay:
- Blend Mode: Normal
- Opacity: 37
- Gradient: Default
+ Reverse: Check
- Style: Reflected
+ Align with Layer: Check
- Angle: -63
- Scale: 150

Outer Glow:
- Blend Mode: Normal
- Opacity: 100
- Noise: 0
+ Color: #FFFFFF
- Technique: Softer
- Spread: 0
- Size: 1
- Contour: Default
+ Anti-aliased: Uncheck
- Range: 51
- Jitter: 0

Step 3 Select the Round Rectangle Tool and set the radisu to 2px. Were going to make the part that connects the lid from the bin, create a # 00000 similar shape and size as you see on the picture guide below using the round rectangle tool. Apply a Bevel and Emboss layer style then move this layer below the LID layer.

Bevel and Emboss:
- Style: Inner Bevel
- Technique: Smooth
- Depth: 131
- Direction: Up
- Size: 4
- Soften: 0
- Angle: -90
+ Use Global Light: Uncheck
- Altitude: 62
- Gloss Contour: Default
+ Anti aliased: Uncheck
- Highlight Mode: Normal
+ Color: #FFFFFF
- Opacity: 100%
- Shadow Mode: Normal
+ Color: #000000
+ Opacity: 74

Step 4 Looking good so far but finish it off by adding shadow detail to make it look even more 3Dish. First create a new layer under the BIN layer then select the pen tool and draw a triangle like shape, create your first point at the bottom of the bin and from there make the triangle like shape, fill path #000000. Use the eraser tool with a soft brush and erase to get a fade effect, see picture guide for visuals. Duplicate the shadow layer and rotate the other way then position it to the other side of the bin.

Tricks To make an open look bin, set the angle setting to 0 for the lid's gradient overlay layer style.
