Since SEO is a constant adaptation of both web desgin and content, you have to have several favorites in several different aspects of your website creation to maximize SEO Kaisen. I choose the term Kaisen because it is a Japanese business philosophy of gradual small changes to develop a strong and animated position in the world. Of course, we all are familiar with SEO chat and heading to the Google boards, but keeping your finger on the SEO pulse is going to take research if you're the one doing the writing in Keyword density and discovery. The blogging world has its own methodology, and of course the mere guts of a site has SEO concerns as well. Be sure to register with seo.googlerankings.com to keep up to date with Google trends. There is a yahoo equivelent, but I think it's not as updated. Here's another trick - look at the demands on writers wanted boards like Associated Content. The best writers there tend to have a grip on SEO and many offer articles about what they've learned to help fellow writers. Just be careful. Not all the writers on that site are up to par with pro. If in doubt, you might want to hire a web design company that knows SEO or look into an SEO service provider.

I think for learning purpose the SEO Book (you can Google it) is a pretty good start. Maybe check on Amazon too and see if there might be other hand held books you can order and use.

I love learning about SEO - it is truly a lot of fun to me. But maybe I'm a geek! LOL

In my business I have to adapt with SEO, but thankfully the basics are similar. It's not like the field is a totally different animal every time you research. It slowly changes but doesn't lose any of the basics in the process.
