Obviously Xemion and other designer directories are a great source for new clients, but what are some of the other ways you find new clients online?

A lot of people come thru my SEO News Blog. Even before I've had an SEO and Design Services link up there I received requests whether or not I provide SEO services and if I might know a good designer.

Forums are a great place to start and social networking will get you a long way.

A lot of web design companies are using Adwords as a way to get some client for their work. This is just the same as any other sites

I was recently at a trade show and one of the lecturers there was a web designer. She mentioned that using a blog is a really good way to drive business to your site. A business related blog is nice, but even blogging about your favorite charity, or current events will help get people to your site.

If web designers are looking for strong clientelle, I have to agree that a blogging and forum approach is immensely helpful. Another place to look is anywhere people are trying to branch out and get their sites going - like ecommerce sites for mom and pops trying to get placement. After all, small business owners have more to concern themselves with than simply cookie cuttering themselves into a standard ecommerce setup. I've realized lately that with Ebay's failures, more and more M & P's are branching out onto the web. Sure, a lot of them choose the shop setups, but there are tons of potential clients out there on these ebay seller gossip sites who want their own dot com.

If you’re a web designer then it would be best if you will be best if you would write topics about web designs and from there you could try to introduce your own webdesign company.

I would normally send my URL to thousands of directories, but that was only for Pagerank really, because that won't get you visitors. I would just put on other forums related to mine and mention my website here and there. I also used a few other big websites to help out, like myspace, facebook, etc.
