Fancy new codes? Uh oh!

I was just wondering programs folks are using to do their JAVA in. I dare not call myself a "Web Designer," I'm just hoping that some of your expertise will rub off on me!

The only time I worked with java, I was using notepad and compiling in cmd. Nowadays, I'd probably use notepad++ (http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm). If you're using it for web desiging, I'd probably focus more on CSS, XSL, and XHTML.
Thanks for the link above on the Notepaid-plus, so what is this used for? Designing? Coding? Can a person make templates for sites out of this? Do you have to know C++ or any other special programming language to use that?
Its an enhanced version of the ever familiar notepad used to program, u can code in this and it will help u in syntax errors etc..
Notepad++ is awesome, check the link Sparta put up.

You can use it to do ANY text editing you want, however it will automatically pick up the syntax for

Lol, thats still a large list for the most common coding
Yeah i have a similar problem with the thread starter, but i guess most people don't use java.
